Linn DMS Isobariks - External Crossover questions.

Has anyone got a schematic or pictures for the late model DMS crossovers (The ones in the stand bases) ?
I've just got a pair that have had the links cut for tri-wiring but I want to put these back to enable a single wire run.
The main link bars I can solder back together but I think there are other links I need to make as well.
Has anyone done this ?

Alan.

I'll do a picture over the weekend and get it to you, or post it on here.

Cheers Vance.
Can you do a close up of the Bass/Mid/Treble parts inside so I know which connections to re-solder.
Many thanks.
Alan.

I think there is a picture over on the Naim forum somewhere. If you do a search you'll probably find it. Can't remember how detailed it is though.

Hi Alan,
I have done the photos, let me know your email address and I will send them. There appear to be 12 links in total.

Very nicely, the tweeters are settling in nicely, sounded a bit harsh to start with. Still a bit bright, and I do have a bass problem with my room, which is frustrating me. I can tell it is there, and hear bits of it, but some is missing.
In another thread I have detailed my problem, I have a major trough between 55-60Hz, which then rises to a peak at 85-90Hz, then settles back down. Trouble is, it is over 20DB between the 2 [:(]
I will have to hurry up and find the money for my kitchen. That way I can sort out a much more friendly room for them, shape wise etc.
Having got the Briks, and lived with them for a couple of weeks, I have tried my other speakers back in the room. I don't want to go back to either set !! Won't cure the bass issue anyway. I just love the music from the Briks.

PS if anyone needs the velcro for Briks Wilmslow Audio do it.

Vance,
Can you post them to 'alan.ball@shell.com'
Having done a bit more research (and the fact you mentioned 12 bars to connect) I think I know which other connections to make. The pins on the negative links have been cut right back so were not immediately obvious.
So - a few options for me.
- Using NACA5 to make the connections ? I couldn't get the solder to stick to the original link wires, even after a bit of buffing. I suppose NACA5 is not a problem ?
- Bi-amping the Briks ? I thought about using 2 x 135's and a 180 to effectively bi-amp them. I suppose I can have a play with the config but if you had to run this would you put the 180 on the treble inputs or on the bass ?

Hi Alan,
I'll send them tonight, forgot to bring them to the office with me sorry [:(]
I have a 250 and a pair of monoblocked 110's, I have been thinking about doing similar things for the fun of it. Personally I was going to put the 250 on for the bass, the 110's for mid and treble. Bass needs the control and grunt more I think.

Vance -
Cheers. I'll let you know how I get on. I've also got some monoblocked 110's which I'll try. I did think of having them running with 2 x 135's, 2 x 110's & 1 x 180 but don't have enough plug sockets or another set of NACA5.

Hi Alan,
I have enough a5 with connectors, it is the interconnects for the amps I need to make up. With everything else, it is finding time to sort it out and have a play.
Got the system sounding great over the weekend thanks to Kit. Actually got some good deep, detailed bass at last in my anti music room.[:D]
